Defence Career Expo
MICT SETA showcases career opportunities at the 2025 Defence Career Expo.
Hosted by the Department of Defence and Military Veterans under the theme 'The Department of Defence Inspires a Sense of Service and Patriotism Among the Country's Youth', the 2025 Defence Career Expo was held on 11 April 2025, at the Tempe Military Base in Bloemfontein, Free State.
Defence Career Expo Scene at Tempe Military Base
Objectives of the Career Expo:
- To encourage youth interest in SANDF career opportunities.
- To provide information and guidance on careers in the defence sector.
- To promote national service and patriotism among young South Africans.
- To align post-school education with national defence and skills development priorities.
Keynote Address
Angie Motshekga, Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, was in attendance, alongside the Minister of Higher Education and Training Dr Nobuhle Nkabane, Deputy Minister of Defence and Military Veterans Richard Hlope, Premier of the Free State Province Ms Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae, and senior members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF).
